MIDDLETOWN - Nancy Kriz, who writes for The Photo News and its sister publications, will teach two courses at SUNY Orange in September. The class is useful to people who have little to no background in publicity writing and are handling that function for their business or community organization. The session runs for eight weeks beginning Wednesday, Sept. 8. The second, “Want to Become a Freelance Newspaper Writer?” focuses on the basics of news writing and interviewing and applies those skills to writing news and feature stories; along with tips for working with editors in order to meet their needs. It runs for six weeks beginning Tuesday, Sept. 21. In addition to her writing, Kriz previously taught undergraduate and graduate courses at Iona College. She has more than 25 years experience in the public relations/communications field along with degrees in public relations/journalism and communications.
