Monroe to hold environmental hearing on Bald Hill development
MONROE-The following is a notice from the Town of Monroe Planning Board: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Board of the Town of Monroe has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement ("DEIS") on the proposed Bald Hill development and will hold a SEQRA public hearing for the purpose of obtaining public comment on the DEIS. The hearing will be held at the Town of Monroe Senior Center, 101 Mine Road, Monroe, Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at 7:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard. The public is advised that the subject of this SEQRA hearing is only the DEIS: one or more separate public hearing(s) on the land use approvals required by the project will be held at a later date. The property is approximately 70 acres in size and is located on the western side of County Route 105, immediately north of the Village of Monroe boundary line. It includes land located in the LI and URM Zoning Districts of the Town, and is designated on the Town Tax Map as Sections 1-3-25.2 and 27.12. The proposed action includes the construction of 112 attached single-family dwellings on lands zoned URM, three future commercial lots on lands zoned LI, and related roads and infrastructure. Access will be on CR-105. The applicant proposes central water and sewer systems. The DEIS are available at the Town Clerk's office and the Monroe Free Library. Upon opening of the public hearing, the Planning Board will accept comments from all interested members of the public. The public hearing may be closed or continued in the Planning Board's discretion. Written comments regarding on the DEIS will be received until the later of March 15, 2005, or ten (10) days after the close of the hearing. The Town of Monroe will make every effort to assure that the hearing is accessible to persons with disabilities.
