Monroe Fire department holds open house Sunday

    MONROE-The Monroe Fire Department/Mombasha Fire Company will hold an open house on Sunday, Oct. 10, to cap the National Fire Prevention week activities. The open house will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Monroe Fire Department's Station 1 (Rt 17m near Mr. Cone and across from Built Well Fence Co.). Monroe residents are invited to come and learn more about fire safety, meet members of the department and see various demonstrations and equipment which will be on display. Area residents also are urged to check smoke detectors this week and review household ‘escape' plans to be prepared in the event of a fire.
