HIGHLAND MILLS — The following items have been excerpted from the monthly e-newsletter distributed by Woodbury Town Councilman James Skoufis (james@skoufisforwoodbury.com):

Government As a reminder, the vast majority of residents’ park passes are set to expire and will need to be renewed for the upcoming season. Each resident/family will need to fill out a new application and bring in proof of residency which can be a property tax bill, mortgage statement or, if you’re a renter, a lease or letter from the landlord; everyone must show a photo ID with a Woodbury address.

The fee for each homeowner pass is $30, which is good for five years; renter passes must be renewed annually at $15/year.

Park Department hours are presently 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the week; however, there are extended office hours in March to accommodate residents, all of which can be viewed at woodburyparkandrec.com

Two items from Town Clerk Desiree Potvin:

• The Woodbury Town Board is proud to announce its efforts to improve the quality of the meeting recordings that are aired on its public access channel, Channel 22, available to all Cablevision subscribers. The taped meetings are aired daily at 12:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m.

Starting this year, some meetings will be broadcast live. The live town board meetings are at 7:30 p.m. on the first and third Thursday of each month and the live village board meetings are at 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

Additionally, Town Board meetings are available on the town’s web site (townofwoodbury.com).

These improvements are a direct result of the negotiations between Cablevision and the Town Board, headed by Councilman Frank Palermo and former Councilman Amidee Haviland.

• The town clerk is currently accepting applications for a part-time position in her office which will begin on or about June 4. Applicants must be residents of the Town of Woodbury.

The position will be approximately 18 hours per week and the applicant must have flexibility in working hours. On rare occasions there may be hours to be worked in the evening. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required. Some of the primary responsibilities of this position are the recording of all town fixed assets, administration of all workers compensation related cases, the maintenance of the public access channel as well as working with the public in person and on the telephone. Applications are available at the Clerk’s Office located at Town Hall or on the Town’s web site (townofwoodbury.com). Applications will be accepted at the Town Clerk’s office until 4 p.m. on March 30.
