Shaping the things to come

— The Monroe-Woodbury School District has begun a strategic planning process that will result in a multi-year plan with guiding principles and goals that support the vision and mission adopted by the Board of Education.
The district seeks the involvement from students, parents, community and business representatives, as well as district staff and administrators.
An initial step in the process requires input and ideas from the community. This information, gathered through a series of surveys, will help identify the district’s strengths and weaknesses and help establish priorities for the next five years.
Topics of importance identified by stakeholders in the survey will guide the district’s Task Forces. These Task Forces will develop the operational aspects of the strategic plan by examining specific areas such as student achievement, community connections and more.
“I encourage each and every member of the M-W community to complete the survey,” said Superintendent of Schools Elsie Rodriguez. “The success of this planning process is dependent upon information and opinions gleaned from our stakeholders. When all is said and done, the plan will serve as a blueprint that clearly defines the district’s action steps and goals that will sustain the district for years to come.”
Rodriguez will share updates on a regular basis during Board of Education meetings and on the strategic planning page on the district website.
The surveysStudents in grades 3-12 will have an opportunity to conduct the survey during school hours. The survey should take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete and will be available from until Feb. 9.
Online at www.mw.k12.ny.us, individual stakeholders will find surveys that are directed toward their interests:
Residents/business people
Parents/guardians
District employees
