MONTGOMERY — P.U.L.S.E.S. (Parents United Learning the Special Education System) of the Mid-Hudson Valley strives to provide parents of children with disabilities with information and resources in order to ensure full participation in their children’s educational program.
The group also strives to connect special education families to existing resources and support systems while supporting positive change in special education services across the school districts in the Mid-Hudson Valley.
P.U.L.S.E.S. was recently awarded fiscal sponsorship from the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan.
With this fund, the group will support advocacy initiatives for families of children with all types of abilities, including both physical and developmental, in seven counties.
The goal is to use the Community Foundation to raise monetary donations to support this work.
“Parents United Learning the Special Education System is very pleased to join with the Community Foundation in our mission to serve families with special needs children in the Mid-Hudson Valley," said Dr. Kathy Gill, P.U.L.S.E.S. president and founder. "With the support of CFOS, we anticipate the expansion of resources that P.U.L.S.E.S. will be able to provide to our families."
Contributions to the fund may be made to CFOS-PULSES Fund and sent to the Community Foundation of Orange & Sullivan, 30 Scott’s Corners Drive, Suite 203, Montgomery, NY 12549.
Secure online donations can be made online at www.cfosny.org.
