Public forums scheduled on the benefits of renovating County Government Center

    GOSHEN ­— Taxpayers of Orange County and the Democratic Alliance are co-sponsoring three public hearings to inform the public of the economic benefits of renovating the Orange County Government Center in Goshen instead of demolishing it.

    According to a press release by Nancy Hull Kearing, the forums will be held on the following dates and places:

    Sunday, Feb. 26, 2 to 4 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall at St. James Church, 1 St. James St. in Goshen.

    Sunday, March 4, 2 to 4 p.m., at Newburgh CAC, 48 Grand St., Newburgh.

    Sunday, March 25, 2 to 4 p.m., in the Recreation Center, 134 Pike St., Port Jervis.

    These forums are free and open to the public. The speakers will include a county legislator, architects, a budget analyst, a historian and preservationist. A question and answer period will follow the prepared remarks.

    Light refreshments will be served by Change Orange.
