Hospital employees learn small changes can make a big difference

WARWICK For the employees of St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick, it was an opportunity to gather for a common goal – improving their health.
The days message: Small changes can make a big difference.
On Friday, March 9, The Bon Secours Health System, which includes St. Anthony Community Hospital, Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Suffern and Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, observed Commitment Day.
The event was designed as an opportunity to encourage all employees, regardless of whether they live active lifestyles or were couch potatoes, to become healthier with daily routines, sessions at the gym and healthy diets.
Commitment Day, which featured a variety of preventive, curative and rehabilitative services available to hospital staff, happened in the morning in the St. Anthony Community Hospital cafeteria and in the afternoon at the Garden Café at Mount Alverno Center.
The event highlighted little things everyone can do to improve their quality of life, such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator, skipping desert, or simply spending more time with friends and family.
