CENTRAL VALLEY — Monroe-Woodbury Superintendent of Schools Elsie Rodriguez is asking community members who have questions related to the boundary line alteration to send their questions to erodriguez@mw.k12.ny.us by Tuesday, Oct. 24.
The school district has approved reconfigured boundaries with the Kiryas Joel School District in anticipation of the creation of the Town of Palm Tree.
Monroe residents will vote on a referendum on Nov. 7 that would allow for the creation of a new town that would include the Village of Kiryas Joel, plus 220 additional acres that are now located in the Monroe-Woodbury School District.
The alteration moves those 220 acres from Monroe-Woodbury into the Kiryas Joel School District.
School administrators will answer submitted questions at the Wednesday, Oct. 25, meeting of the Board of Education. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Education Center, 278 Route 32, Central Valley.
The questions and answers will be posted to the Boundary Alteration Page of the district website (www.mw.k12.ny.us) following the meeting.
