Coloring for Chemo

CENTRAL VALLEY — While the noises coming from the cafeteria were similar to any other school day, there was a very clear purpose for this gathering. Middle schools students stayed after school recently to compile baskets for pediatric cancer patients.
The more than 60 baskets held coloring books, crayons, markers, puzzles and more. The students are hoping this small gesture will make a big difference in someone’s day.
Inspirational messages created by the students were attached to the outside of the colorful baskets, encouraging those fighting these diseases to have hope.
Student Council President Kayla Arone perhaps said it best in her message to the basket recipients: “Stay strong and keep fighting. You will get through this.”
Coloring for Chemo is a non-profit organization that brings, by donation, brand new coloring books and crayons to children who are hospitalized, not only fighting cancer, but other illnesses as well.
