HIGHLAND MILLS — The Town of Woodbury Senior Center has been award $5,000 for new furnishing, Assemblyman James Skoufis (D-Woodbury) has announced.
The grant will be used to purchase additional card tables, room partitions, stackable chairs and a new desk. These items will improve recreational activities as well as regular meetings at the senior center; partitions will efficiently separate the room to maximize space.
“I would like to thank Assemblyman James Skoufis for supplying our center with additional furniture for our seniors,” said Rick Walls, the director of the Woodbury Senior Center. “It will enhance their comfort and enjoyment of their activities. With our recent increase in attendance, the furnishings will be a welcome sight. I am grateful to James for always keeping an eye out for our seniors.”
This grant is the second that Skoufis has secured for the Woodbury Senior Center, previously acquiring funding for a new microphone system that is used during the center’s regular meetings.
