Library offers career workshops

    Warwick — The Albert Wisner Public Library and the Warwick Career Transition Group are sponsoring “You’re Hired!,” a series of three career workshops, beginning on Saturday, Jan. 29. The following workshops will meet in the library’s community room: Part I: Winning Resumes and Covers Letters is scheduled for Jan. 29, from 9 a.m. to noon. What key words must be on your resume? How do employers choose candidates to interview from among the thousands of resumes they receive? What is the appropriate number of pages for your resume? How do you answer those difficult interview questions? What is the “hidden job market”? This workshop will answer these questions and a lot more. Part II: Effective Job Search Strategies is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 19, from 9 a.m. to noon. Part III: Preparing for Traditional and Behavioral Interviews is scheduled for Saturday, March 26, from 9 a.m. to noon. This informative and highly interactive series of workshops will be conducted by Gregg A. Knowles, a human resources professional with over 25 years of Fortune 500 experience. The group offers support and skills training including updating resumes, interviewing tips, networking skills and gaining confidence during the job search. Open to anyone considering or undergoing a career change. The group meets regularly at Christ Church from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesdays, restarting on the first Wednesday in February.
