Newburgh — The Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County, along with the Jack and Jessica Blinkoff Scholarship Fund and the Youth to Israel committee (Y2I), is offering Israel Experience Scholarships. The aim is to encourage Jewish high school students to visit Israel to build or reinforce their Jewish identity, to appreciate the land and its culture and to strengthen a connection with Israel that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. The federation offers need-based and merit scholarships for teens entering grades 10-12 who reside in Orange County and whose parents contribute to the Jewish Federation’s annual campaign. Teens are able to choose their own trip from recognized Jewish summer programs. To apply, download applications at www.jewishorangeny.org or call 562-7860. The deadline is Jan. 31.
