Harriman State Park — Harriman State Park Group Camps are now on Facebook. This online community will be a place to share memories, connect with old summer friends, learn about ways to volunteer time, energy and enthusiasm and ultimately help in park revitalization efforts. The group camps have touched the lives of close to a million children over the years — many of whom are homeless and underprivileged. In the close to 110-year history of the program, over 500 non-profit organizations have rented campsites from the park in order to run their camps. Sadly, some of the buildings, grounds, and infrastructure are in seriously deteriorated conditions, due to their age. Many were constructed in the 1940s and need rehabilitation. With support, the park can fix them and allow more children to attend camp in the future. To share memories or to support the park’s efforts, visit Harriman State Park Group Camps on Facebook.
