CENTRAL VALLEY - Students at Central Valley Elementary took part in an evening of fitness and fun during the school’s third annual health fair, held March 22. The event raised close to $600, with all proceeds benefitting the Juvenile Arthritis Foundation, the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross. Red Cross funds were designated for Japanese earthquake and tsunami relief efforts, according to Vice Principal Michael Barone. Sponsored by the Fifth Grade Advisory, the event featured participation from local businesses, physicians and health organizations who provided students with exercise activities and healthy lifestyle information, Barone said.
