Monroe - December was a busy month at Congregation Eitz Chaim/The Monroe Woodbury Jewish Community Center in Monroe. On Sunday morning, Dec. 5, synagogue families invited the general community to join together for a Chanukarama, a celebration of the Festival of Lights. The event included traditional potato pancakes with apple sauce as well as many family activities. Then on Wednesday morning, Dec. 8, the Gan Shalom Preschool families came together for their preschool Hanukkah celebration. As the program came to a close, the children participated in a gift exchange which included spinning dreidels and chocolate gelt (coins).
