    William J. Buckley, former longtime resident of Monroe and most recently, Clearwater, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, at Manor Care Nursing Home, Palm Harbor, Fla. He was 83 years old.
    The son of William J. Buckley and the Mary Sweeney Buckley, he was born Sept. 16, 1934, in New York City.
    William was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Cintichem, Inc. of Sterling Forest.
    Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Rotchford Buckley, at home; his daughters: Laura Vaughan and her husband John of Campbell Hall and Maureen Moran of Lumberton, N.J.; his five grandchildren: Kelly Mai Cornine and her husband Connor, Brendan Patrick Vaughan, Christopher, Eileen and Kyle Cunha; his great grandson Mason Cornine; and many nieces and nephews.
    There will be no visitation.
    A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1noon on Saturday, Nov. 4, at St. Anastasia Shrine Church, 21 N. Main St., Harriman.
    Interment will follow in St. Anastasia Cemetery.
