Stewart Allan Gottlieb

Stewart Gottlieb of Middletown, N.Y., died peacefully after a long battle with dementia. He was 71.
Son of Bernard Gottlieb and Beatrice Winters Gottlieb, he was born in Brooklyn and lived there with his wife, Lily Gottlieb, and two children until 1982, when they moved to Middletown.
He loved to travel, ski, kayak and whitewater raft. He was an active member of the community with multiple business ventures in Orange and Sullivan County. He was also a member of the Orange County Republican Committee.
Survivors include his wife, Lily Gottlieb, of Middletown; daughter, Beth Gottlieb, of Monroe, N.Y.; brother, Jan Gottlieb of Queens, N.Y., granddaughter, Brina Muller of Monroe, N.Y.; and lifelong friend Marion Chu of Chester, N.Y.; as well as many cousins, niece sand nephews.
He was predeceased by his son Brian Gottlieb.
Services were held Oct. 1 at Temple Sinai in Middletown. Burial followed in the family plot in Temple Sinai Cemetery in Circleville, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
