Sister Kathleen Reilly

    Sister Kathleen Reilly, CSAC, a member of the congregation of the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate (Pallottines) in Monroe, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern. She was 75 years old.
    Kathleen Reilly was born Dec. 2, 1942, in Englewood, N.J., the daughter of Jerome and Muriel Lyons Reilly. She entered the Pallottine Sisters on Sept. 8, 1960, and made her Final Profession on Sept. 1, 1968.
    She celebrated her Silver Jubilee in 1986 and served as a Religious for 56 years.
    Sister Kathleen earned a BS in Biology in 1967 from Fordham University and an MA in 1971 in Biology-General Science from Hunter College. She taught at elementary schools from 1962 until 1969 when she attended Hunter College from 1969 to 1971.
    From 1971 to 1981 she served as an instructor and financial aid administrator at Harriman College and was a resident at St. Joseph’s, also in Harriman.
    In 1982 she taught at St. Patrick’s before moving to Holy Rosary in Union City, N.J., where she taught from 1982 to 1996. She began teaching at St. Joseph’s High School in 1996.
    Sister Kathleen also served her community as a Provincial Chapter Delegate in 1983.
    Survivors include her brothers Peter Reilly of Oxford, Mass., and Robert Reilly of Lebanon, N.J., and several nieces and nephews.
    Visitation was held on Jan. 21 at Queen of Apostles Convent in Monroe.
    A Funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 22 at Queen of Apostles Chapel in Monroe.
    Interment followed in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Monroe.
