Patrick W. Welsh Jr. passed away at The Watermark in Trinity, Florida, on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at the age of 90.
Patrick was born in Malden, Massachusetts, on June 1, 1927. He was the son of Patrick W. Welsh Sr. and Eileen McKenna Welsh.
Patrick moved with his parents from Malden to the Bronx, New York, at an early age.
He was a proud graduate of Fordham Prep in the Bronx and attended Fordham University.
Patrick was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a retired detective with the New York Police Department.
Patrick raised his family in Monroe, New York, and later relocated to New Port Richey, Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Welsh of New Port Richey; his children Dr. Stephen P. Welsh and his wife Claire of Roswell, Ga., Patrick W. Welsh III and his wife Wendy of Monroe, Eileen P. Scanlon of Port Charlotte, Florida, Michael E. Welsh and his partner Lynda Kohler of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, John P. Welsh and his wife Stephanie of Frederick, Colorado, and Thomas M. Welsh and his wife Veronica of Meridian, Indiana; Patrick is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Patrick was predeceased by his son Edward P. Welsh.
Arrangements have been made by Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home & Cremation Services of New Port Richey, Florida. A private service will be held at the Florida National Veterans Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, at the convenience of the family.
