Joseph L. Steiner of Monroe passed away Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at Valley View Center for Nursing Care and Rehabilitation in Goshen. He was 83 years old.
The son of Joseph L. and Anna M. Wilson Steiner, he was born Nov. 9, 1934, in Brooklyn.
Joseph was a retired electrical cable engineer with General Cable of West Nyack. He was a life member of the IEEE and ICC.
Joseph also was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church of Monroe and will always be remembered for his absolute love of family and community. He was loved by many and will be missed by many.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years Diane I. Steiner at home; his daughter Suzanne M. Ambrosio and her husband Michael of Monroe; his son: Joseph L. Steiner III and his wife Jean of Canyon Country, California, and James P. Steiner of White Plains; and his four grandchildren: Joey, Kimberly, Jesse, and Daniel.
He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Janis Steiner.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe.
Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
A future interment of cremains will take place in St. Anastasia Cemetery, Harriman.
