Jack Leland Knight of Goshen, N.Y., died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at home. He was 61.
Son of Robert and Beverly Knight, he was born Sept. 25, 1956.
He was formerly from Monroe, N.Y., and a Monroe Woodbury graduate. He was self-employed as a contractor.
He loved to listen to the Beatles and Elton John. He was an avid Giants and Yankees fan and he enjoyed deep sea fishing and hunting. He enjoyed entertaining his family and friends at his home in Goshen.
A family statement said, "Jack will forever be in our hearts, we will forever miss his presence in our lives."
Survivors include his wife, Gia L. Knight, at home; son, Derek J. Knight of Goshen; daughters, Rachael M. Knight of Goshen and Carly L. Knight and companion, Dave Williams, of Chester, N.Y.; brother, John S. Knight of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; sisters, Ruth A. Stack of Jackson, N.J., and Jan M. Vanhage of Chester; mother-in-law, Michele Weigel of Washingtonville, N.Y; sister-in-law, Sheila St. Lawrence and husband, George, of Goshen; grandchildren, Aalijah Knight, Carmella Ferraro, and Noah Williams; a granddaughter on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; his brother Robert W. Knigh tJr. and brother-in-law Roy Stack.
Visitation was scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 21 ,from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church St., Goshen. The funeral will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the Donovan Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Slate Hill Cemetery, Goshen.
