Evelyn F. Checa

    Evelyn F. Checa was one of a kind. She was born Oct. 7, 1925, in the Bronx to Caroline and Arthur G. Meyer and passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, in Lexington, Kentucky. She was 92 years old.
    Evelyn was the widow of Joseph J. Checa Sr., who predeceased her in 2013.
    Survivors include her four children: Janice Grahn and her husband Tom, Joseph Checa and his wife Jennifer, James Checa and Christine Turnbull and her husband Mark; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
    Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
    A grave side service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Goshen.
