Elsie M. May

Elsie M. May, a longtime resident of the area, passed away on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill surrounded by her family.
The daughter of Robert and Estelle (Berdan) Sloan, she was born Sept. 7, 1925, in Paterson, N.J.
She was the widow of Paul V. May, who predeceased her in 2001.
Known for her fun loving and often mischievous personality, Elsie touched the lives of so many people and left them smiling. Guided by her love of God and strong religious beliefs, she followed the Golden Rule of doing unto others as you would have others do unto you. “How Great Thou Art!”
Elsie was her happiest when she was sharing treasured times with her family. Her lively spirit will definitely be missed.
Survivors include her four daughters: Rita Beardslee and her husband Thomas of Milton, Joyce Stoeberl and her husband Leo of Greenwood Lake, Monica Ladonis of Middletown and Pamela Lehman of Greenwood Lake; her sister Sally Franks of New Jersey; her six grandchildren: Deirdre and Aleen O’Keefe, DJ Stoeberl (and husband David Oberg), Amy Troiano (and husband TJ), Crystal Lehman (and wife Bethany Sweeney) and Kenneth Montgomery; and her seven great grandchildren: Kendra, Brittany, Mason, Jacob, McKenzie, Nicholas and Noah. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service and Family Reflections were held Jan. 25 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home in Monroe.
Interment will be private in George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus, N.J.
