Eleanor E. Castaldi

    Eleanor E. Castaldi of Fort Myers, Fla., and formerly of Highland Mills, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018, at Hope Hospice House on Fort Myers, Fla. She was 87 years old.
    The daughter of Conrad and Elsie Passe Haug, she was born June 29, 1930, in Elmhurst.
    Eleanor was a retired administrative assistant with the Monroe-Woodbury School District. She was president of the Monroe-Woodbury Clerical, Cafeteria, Teacher Aide and Monitors Union and a former member of St. Patrick’s Church of Highland Mills.
    Survivors include her loving husband John at home; her daughter Susan Castaldi Bundschu and her husband M. Randolph Bundschu Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; her sons Thomas E. Castaldi of Detroit, Mich., and Robert W. Castaldi of Fort Myers, Fla.; her brother John Haug and his wife Mary Lou of Smithtown; her sister-in-law Bernice Haug; her five grandchildren: Julie and her husband Joseph, Kimberly and her husband Leo, Natalie, Robert II and Sabrina; and her two great grandchildren: Haven and Harmony.
    Eleanor was predeceased by her son James Castaldi and her brother Robert Haug.
    Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 9, at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 515 Route 32, Highland Mills.
    A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, at St. Patrick’s Church, 448 Route 32, Highland Mills.
    Interment will follow in Cemetery of The Highlands in Highland Mills.
