Barbara M. Karl

Barbara M. Karl, a life-long Orange County resident, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. She was 84 years old.
The daughter of Harry L. Murray Sr. and Lillian Diffily Murray, she was born Jan. 4, 1934, in Middletown.
Barbara was a homemaker, active member of Sacred Heart in Monroe and an avid New York Mets fan.
Survivors include her daughters Barbara Ann Horaz and husband Thomas of Washingtonville and Catherine M. Rivera of Monroe; sons John M. Karl III and wife Peggy of Monroe, Lawrence J. Karl of Broomfield, Colorado, and Christopher R. Karl and wife Karen of San Diego, California; brother William Murray of Chester; sister: Mary Kay Campbell of Sun City, Arizona; grandchildren: Michael, Gregory, Jonathan, Shannon, Emily, Hannah, Lauren and Heather; and great-grandchildren: William and Bentley.
Barbara was pre-deceased by her husband, John M. Karl Jr., her daughter Marianne Karl, her grandson William Rivera, her brothers James, Robert, John and Harry Jr., and her sisters Elizabeth Carey and Jean Murphy.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe.
Interment will follow in St. Columba Cemetery in Chester.
