— On Saturday, Oct. 27 at 3 p.m., the Souza Scholarship for the Performing Arts and The Monroe-Woodbury Music Boosters will co-present the 29th Annual Monroe-Woodbury Faculty and Friends Recital in the Monroe-Woodbury High School Auditorium.
The show will include performances by teachers from every building in the Monroe-Woodbury School District.
As you may know, this year, the district was recognized as one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation (NAMM) Foundation for the seventh year in a row.
“The 29th annual faculty recital promises to bring wonderful performances of varying styles to the community in support of the M-W Music Booster and Souza scholarship programs," noted Christopher Taborsky, Monroe-Woodbury’s new District Music Coordinator. “The Monroe-Woodbury Music faculty is passionate about educating students through music and giving back to the community and its students by putting on a fantastic show.”
Nicole Regan, who has coordinated this event for about 10 years, is now Assistant Principal of Smith-Clove Elementary School. But she is looking forward to playing piano at the event this year.
“The Faculty and Friends Concert is always a special event for Monroe-Woodbury Music Boosters,” said Eliza Reynolds, the group’s secretary. “Working along with the Souza Scholarship, this concert brings together a community of talent from all around Monroe-Woodbury. Come out and enjoy the beautiful musical stylings of what the talented music faculty (and friends) have to offer.”
EssentialsAll proceeds from the performance will go directly to the Scholarship Funds of the Souza Foundation and the Monroe-Woodbury Music Boosters.
Tickets, available at the door, will be $12 for adults and $6 for students and seniors.
