Talk on Durand and Thoreau at church

As part of the Museum of the Hudson Highlands’ Speaker Series, Dr. H. Daniel Peck will speak about nature in the works of Asher B. Durand and Henry David Thoreau, unlikely kindred spirits, on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cornwall Presbyterian Church. Peck is a Vassar College professor of English and former director of Vassar’s Environmental Studies Program and its American Culture Program. Beverages and desserts will be available.
