The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor’s Home is Where the Heart is program will take place on Sunday, Feb. 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. The free program will cover the entire range of wars for which Americans have been awarded the Purple Heart. Although the modern Purple Heart was not created until 1932, veterans from as far back as the Civil War applied for, and were awarded the Purple Heart. Staff members of the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor and friends will read letters both to and from service men and women that reflect their feelings and experiences across three centuries of American military conflict.
