‘Gardens of Goshen' to raise money for church fire fund

    GOSHEN - Members of St. James Episcopal Church in Goshen are continuing in their effort to raise money for the Fire Restoration Fund with the "Gardens of Goshen" tour and luncheon, to be held on Saturday, June 19. The church is sponsoring this event in conjunction with Goshen in Bloom, the village's participation in the nationwide America in Bloom beautification contest. Touring will take place from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church, located at 1 St. James Place. Participants will explore many beautiful gardens, including that of Mary and Don Myers of Maple Ave. These members of St. James are the proud owners of a prize-winning rose garden containing nearly 600 plants. Guests may begin or end their tour with an elegant luncheon. Tickets are $30 and may be obtained by calling Ray Balley at 294-5322 oor Marcia Burke at 291-7176. A vintage cast-iron garden urn will be raffled off that day. Raffle tickets are $1 and may be obtained by calling Joann LaBrecque at 888-4497.
