Goshen — The next free introductory workshop for David Patrick Wilson’s acting classes is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Margo George Studios on West Main Street in Goshen. Organizers said the workshop has proven beneficial to a wide range of participants, from working actors to individuals seeking to enhance their presentation skills. Wilson studied directly under Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City. In his workshops, Wilson will share with the knowledge he has acquired from his diverse career experiences on stage, in film and TV, spanning more than four decades. Wilson has developed a professional actor’s workshop, based on the highly regarded “Meisner technique.” Widely accepted as the healthiest of methods, it relies on the actor’s imagination “to produce the truth of the moment, not vague interpretations of a troubled past.” Meisner was largely responsible for training many of the world’s most renowned performers, including Steve McQueen, Joanne Woodward, Gregory Peck, Robert Duvall, Mary Steenburgen, Richard Gere, Jeff Goldblum and Diane Keaton. Anyone under 18 years of age, who wishes to attend, must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations are required. To register, call Wilson or Nan Gill at 294-7500 or e-mail david@willygilly.com.
