Church will host New Day trio

Highland Mills The Highland Mills United Methodist Church will present a new ensemble of Christian music artists, A New Day, on June 4 at 7:30 p.m. The group will provide a free concert of inspirational music, including both classical and contemporary selections. A New Day is a vocal trio comprised of Andrew Calcutt (baritone), Bennett Bishop (guitar and baritone), and Cindy Pollsen (soprano, guitar and viola), with Jim Fry (keyboard and arranger). For Pollsen, it will be a return to the area where she grew up and graduated from Monroe-Woodbury High School in 1998. She later received her degree in art history from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst where she now lives and works as a worship leader for a church known as MERCYhouse. New Day was formed in 2010 and is on a spring concert tour of the Hudson Valley. The church is located at 654 Route 32 at Ridge Road, in Highland Mills.
