Church to exhibit work by Hudson Valley artists

Warwick — During the month of November, Vision Community Church will exhibit the work of artist and illustrator John Gould, along with the photography of his son, William Gould. A reception with William Gould will be hosted by the church on Sunday, Nov. 7 from 11:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served. John Gould (1906-1996) is one of the regions best known illustrators and painters whose career spanned seven decades. He taught painting and drawing at Pratt Institute for 22 years and co-founded the Bethlehem Art Gallery in Cornwall with his wife, Mary Gould. Their son, William Gould, captures the beauty of the Hudson Valley in his photography of landscapes and florals. The exhibit will be available for viewing every Sunday in November before and after the 10 a.m. service, or anytime during the week with advanced notification to the gallery director, Deb Holton-Smith at 661-9883. The church is located at 103 Newport Bridge Rd.
