Book Garden opens April 16

MONROE — The Book Garden, the “gently read” book shop operated by the Friends of the Monroe Free Library, opens for the season on Saturday, April 16. Special shop hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include refreshments and giveaways while supplies last. This season, and for the first time, the book shop is issuing a complimentary “Loyalty Card” to patrons. The book shop always offers a special “Buy a Bag of Books for $5” promotion. Now. for every five bags of books purchased, the sixth bag of books is free. A new card will be issue after the sixth free bag for patrons to start again. “Stuff as much as you can in those first five bags, and the sixth is on us,” said Friends of the Library President Diane Leviseur. “And we’ll want you to stuff that sixth bag too.” April and May hours are Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (with 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. hours on April 30, May 14 and May 28); Thursdays, 2 to 5 p.m.; and Fridays, 1 to 5 p.m. Call 783-4411 for additional information.
