Apple Dave's Distillery celebrates Mardi Gras this Saturday, February 10

WARWICK — You can begin your Mardi Gras celebration early this year.
This Saturday, Feb. 10, the new Distillery at Apple Dave's Orchards, 82 Four Corners Road, will begin the traditional New Orleans celebration with music and carnival.
The country bar in Apple Dave's old Red Barn provides a cozy venue for music, antiques, cold brews and hot beverages.
Visitors will have an opportunity to enjoy hot apple cider toddies, mixed drinks and craft beers from the Glenmere Brewing Company and Pine Island Brewing.
And, weather permitting, step outside and enjoy a large fire pit with Adirondack chairs overlooking a vista of rolling fields, a serene skating pond and magnificent winter mountains.
Owner Peter Hull will also regale you with the lore of AppleJack in the Warwick Valley and plans for Apple Dave's Distillery and the Orchards.
Would you like to taste and learn how the old timers made 80 proof real Apple Jack, not to be confused with Apple Brandy, without a still?
Hull will show you how he uses the same methods that Warwick farmers used when Apple Jack was a main export in Colonial days and, we're told, very popular during Prohibition.
Apple Dave's Distillery, a favorite stop last summer, during the apple picking season and for its barn antique store and "Spooky House" at Halloween time, will now remain open on weekends year round on Saturdays and Sundays from noon until 5 p.m.
