Supporting Charles Mancuso Jr. for highway superintendant in Monroe

I am writing to voice my support for Charles Mancuso Jr.’s candidacy for Town of Monroe highway superintendant. I have known Chuck for over 40 years, having met him in Junior high school at M-W. While in high school, we fought forest fires for the N.Y.S. Dept. of Environmental Conservation, hunted, camped and fished together here for years. Chuck was always the first one to volunteer to help someone in need. Chuck has been a member of the Mombasha Fire Company in Monroe for many decades and is a past chief there. He also was a member of the Monroe Volunteer Ambulance Corps for many years as well. Chuck went to work for Monroe Tube company after high school and soon after was promoted to foreman of his shift. He rose to the position of plant manager, and worked there until the plant closed in 2006. PTD alliance bought the company and moved some of the workers to their plant in Pittsburgh, Pa. Chuck took a job in their Pittsburgh plant because that is where his job was moved to. Chuck still works there, making the commute early Monday morning and coming home to Monroe on Friday. His job was moved over 400 miles but Chuck still lives here, in Monroe. Chuck chose to stay here. That speaks highly of the area we love but also highly of Chucks’ ties with this community. We are fortunate to have Chuck here. He has experience and talent as a leader, manager and administrator, both in his career and his volunteer service to the community. He is liked by those that work with him and for him. Many people have moved away when they took jobs out of the area. Chuck chose to remain here. Chuck plans to retire from his job in Pittsburgh after the election. Another win for Monroe. Chuck is a hardworking, trustworthy man with experience leading and managing people and budgets. He heard the call to serve the town, this time as Highway Superintendant. Vote for him this election day. Geoffrey Hawthorne Monroe
