Woodbury Democrats have the right plan'
To the editor: Two major subdivisions before the Town of Woodbury, if approved, will have dramatic impacts on all commuters who must go through the Route 32/17 interchange to reach trains, buses, Thruway, Route 6, etc. If we think things are bad now, wait until 735 more homes are built instead of 308. If the majority of the current town board members have their way, they will pass five new laws to permit an increase of more than 235 percent in density over the current zoning laws. This is totally unacceptable. We are already battling improperly timed lights now so that we can go to work to pay our increasing tax bills (property and school). Perhaps a moratorium is what is needed to increase lot sizes instead of passing five new laws which will give developers free rein over our future. The Democrats, lead by Burke, Reveille and Haviland have the right plan to stop out-of-control building which only benefits the developers as they leave the traffic nightmares to us. The Democrats want to keep Woodbury as we know it, by controlling the growth using our current zoning laws. The choice for commuters is clear. Vote for the Democratic team on Nov 8.
