Monroe - In investigating a home burglary Monroe Village Police say they discovered a man wanted in Texas on charges of sexually abusing a child. Det. James Frankild said the case began on May 20 when police received a complaint from a resident about his home being burglarized. The subsequent investigation revealed that a 40-year-old man from Monroe may be responsible. Frankild said that on May 27 police picked up the man at a home on Sergio Lane in Monroe. Back at headquarters, the man, Ciro Valle-Robles, admitted his part in the burglary and was charged with second-degree burglary, Frankild said. Police also discovered that there were three outstanding warrants from Texas, charging Valle-Robles with sexually abusing a child who was less than 6-year- old. Officers contacted the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in Texas; that department placed a retainer Ciro Valle-Robles, meaning that once he is released on the local charges, Texas police will come north to bring him back. Those warrants date back to May 2007. Frankild said the investigation also showed that Valle-Robles, who has lived in Monroe for about a year, was in the country illegally and had been deported to Mexico once in the past, but apparently re-entered illegally. Officials from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) also have been alerted, Frankild said.
