In his press release announcing the award, High School Principal David Bernsley wrote:
This café has changed the culture of the school day, especially on Friday mornings. The students have transformed their classroom into a relaxing atmosphere where friends can interact while providing a service to the faculty and staff that everybody truly loves.
You will always be greeted with a friendly smile, quick service and good food, while also seeing students who truly love what they do, Bernsley added. These students work in a positive and energetic manner with each other to provide an environment that works on socialization, interpersonal and academic skills.
The principal credited Valerie Senning, the teaching assistants and monitors for working with the students in creating such a positive program.
