Hometown Bank holds community shred day on June 9 in Monroe
MONROE Hometown Bank of the Hudson Valley will hold a community shred day on Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The HV Shred truck will be parked in front of Hometown Banks Monroe branch located at 412 Route 17M. Both customers and non-customers can participate in this event and have outdated personal documents securely shredded (up to three bags).
The shredding event is free, open to the public and refreshments will be served. The local radio station WHUD will be broadcasting live from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and guests will have a chance to win free giveaways when they spin the Hometown Bank prize wheel. Guests can also enter into a raffle to win a free personal shredder for home use.
Properly disposing of materials that contain personal information is one of the best ways to guard against identity theft, Thomas F. Gibney, the banks president and CEO, said in the press release announcing the event. We welcome the entire community to take advantage of this free service during our Community Shred Day.
