Rosaria M. Camarda of Monroe has graduated from New York Medical College with a master's degree in Public Health, Policy and Management. She also received the Outstanding Scholarship Award. She is the daughter of Maria and Sam Camarda of Palermo, Italy.
Maxwell Pollack of Monroe has graduated from The College of New Jersey in Ewing, N.J., with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics.
Coleen Lally, a 2011 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School, has graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Medical Technology. She has also just completed a one-year internship at Valley Hospital in New Jersey. Her current plans are to seek employment at a major hospital.
Evan Froehlich of Monroe graduated with honors from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and a minor in economics.
He is one of 60 students accepted into the Masters of Accountancy program. Evan is the son of Rich and Sue Froehlich.
Kurt Spiegel of Monroe received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in applied statistics from Rochester Institute of Technology.

President’s listErika LaCayo of Monroe was named to the President’s List at Berkeley College. To qualify, a student must achieve a grade point average of 4.00 with a minimum of 12 academic credits.
Dean’s listKerry McHugh of Highland Mills has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2015 semester at SUNY Cortland.
Kerry, whose parents are Robert McHugh and Denise Stewart, is a 2014 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School who is studying physical education at Cortland.
Timothy Alcide of Monroe has been named to the Dean’s List in the University of Notre Dame’s First Year of Studies for outstanding scholarship during the spring 2015 semester.
Students who achieve dean’s honors at Notre Dame represent the top 30 percent of students in their college.
Timothy is studying Business in the Mendoza School of Business at the University of Notre Dame.
Cadet Peter H. Buehlmann of Monroe has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2015 semester at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va.
Buehlmann is a recent graduate who majored in Civil Engineering. He is the son of Pamela and Armin Buehlmann.
Molly M. Power of Highland Mills finished her freshman year at SUNY Plattsburgh by being named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2015 semester.
Mariah Malone of Southfields has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2015 semester at SUNY Cortland. Mariah is a 2013 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School. She is studying early education/childhood education.

Honors, programs, awardsRebecca Louise Vitelli of Monroe has been awarded a Fellowship worth $5,000 by The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi - the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.
Vitelli received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the University of Delaware. As a Phi Kappa Phi Fellow, she will pursue a master’s degree in exceptional children and youth through the University of Delaware’s Autism/Severe Disabilities 4+1 Program.
Vitelli is among 57 students nationwide to receive a Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship.
MacKenzie Ryan of Highland Mills is one of 47 students recently inducted into Alpha Phi Omega (APO), a co-educational service fraternity, at Susquehanna University in Selisgrove, Pennsylvania.
APO brings university students together for leadership, friendship and service opportunities to the campus, the fraternity, the community and the nation. APO devotes their time to volunteering for many different service projects throughout the year such as the SUN Council Social, the Ronald McDonald House dinner, Grayson View bingo, Mostly Mutts, Peace Festival, Relay for Life, Elijah’s Bowl and the Red Cross Blood Drive. Members of the organization complete a minimum of 50 hours of service each year.
Ryan is a strategic communications and psychology major in the Class of 2017. A 2013 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury, she is the daughter of JoAnne Sullivan and Timothy Ryan.
Jay Czerwinski of Monroe was a member of the State University of New York at New Paltz women’s and men’s swimming teams that were named Spring 2015 College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America teams.
A total of 151 NCAA Division III women’s programs and 99 Division III men’s teams received the accolade.
The SUNY New Paltz women’s swim team posted a GPA of 3.23 during the spring of 2015, while the men fashioned a 3.15 GPA.
The distinction is accorded to college and university swimming & diving teams who have achieved a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. It is presented twice a year - once in the fall semester and again in the spring.
