Dominic Magro
Dominic Magro of Highland Mills passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at St. Lukes Cornwall Hospital in Cornwall at the age of 88.
Son of Frederick and Rose Scafuro Magro, he was born August 2, 1923, in Monroe.
Dominic was the widower of Anna Strawsacker Magro.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator for PSE&G of Ridgewood, N.J.
He also was a veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving during World War II.
Survivors include his sons Boyd VanTassell of Franklin, Pa., and Stephen VanTassell of Weirsdale, Fla.; daughters Anna VanTassell and Marlene VanTassell of Highland Mills; brother Basil Magro of Allendale ; sister Nancy McGoldrick of Toms River, N.J.; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held in the Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home in Highland Mills on Feb. 16, with the Rev. Jacob Mattappillil officiating.
Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
