Carol Meyers Kellmann

Carol A. Meyers Kellmann of Highland Mills passed away on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at The Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh. She was 74 years old.

The daughter of Arnold Meyers and Emilie Sachse Meyers, she was born on April 2, 1947, in Paterson, New Jersey.

Carol graduated from Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing in 1969. She served in the United States Air Force as a Lieutenant in the Nurse Corps from 1969-1971.

Carol worked at Mountainside Hospital in Mountainside, New Jersey, Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, primarily as an obstetric nurse. She was Head Nurse at Maple Leaf Nursing Home in Monsey from 1972-1976.

Carol performed child-care services for many years in her home. She was also a member of the Halcyon Ensemble, the Halcyon Singers and the Orange County Classic Choral Society, where she participated as a singer and served as Treasurer and Orchestra Manager.

Carol is survived by her loving husband, Rudolf H. Kellmann, who she married in 1971; son Douglas R. Kellmann of Highland Mills; daughters: Heather L. Kellmann of Seattle, Washington, Emily A. Kellmann of Highland Mills and Elizabeth C. Kellmann of Highland Mills; brother Robert A. Meyers and his wife Gail of Lake Como, Pennsylvania; and four grandchildren.

Visitation was held Sept. 9 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.

Funeral services were held Sept. 10 in the funeral home. Interment followed at Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Goshen.
