Spooky Pooches Howl-O-Ween

What an exciting and fun time was had by all at the first annual Monroe Free Library Spooky Pooch Howl-O-Ween Canine Costume Competition and we'd like to thank everyone for participating.

We had a fantastic time with a turn out of 20 registered dogs competing for more than $200 in prizes.

There was such an array of hilarious and adorable costumes that our spectators had as much fun as we did.

Although there are too many to mention individually, the Pumpkin White Witch was so festive as she paraded around the judging circle performing her magic spells, converting pumpkins into puppies.

And the sweet little infant Princess Leia with her side kick puppy Luke Skywalker was so adorable.

The originality of our first place winner of was second to none as she donned a beautiful butterfly costume which represented the metamorphosis of her caterpillar puppy.

The colors were spectacular.

We would like to extend a special thanks to Pet Smart, Splash & Dash, Stop & Shop, ShopRite and Dollar Tree for their generous donations toward our gift baskets as well as to our vendors for joining us on our special day.

The Monroe Free Library staff outdid themselves with all of their hard work contributing to the success of this event!! And we can't forget to mention Officer Steve from the Monroe Police Department who did such a great job in keeping the event area safe and free from traffic.

Be sure to stay tuned for the save the date announcement of our 2020 Spooky Pooch competition.
