Monroe Town Councilwoman Mary Bingham receives United Healthcare Workers’ endorsement

Mary Bingham is endorsed by 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East., the largest and fastest-growing healthcare union in the nation, representing more than 450,000 members throughout New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, Florida, and Washington, D.C.

“1199SEIU members are enthusiastically supporting the re-election of their fellow 1199 sister, Mary Bingham, to the Monroe Town Board,” said Maurice Brown, the 1199SEIU Political Director for the union’s Hudson Valley/Capital Region. “As a hospital worker, Mary has firsthand experience; she is a dedicated healthcare hero who made sacrifices and took risks during the devastating COVID pandemic, and personally understands and values what every healthcare worker has been through and is still going through.

“Mary shares our vision for improving our communities,” Brown added in the press release detailing the endorsement, “so that everyone has access to affordable healthcare, good jobs and fair and affordable housing.”
