To the Editor:

On the morning of Wednesday, July 24, as the funeral motorcade of FDNY firefighter Richard Driscoll was approaching the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, I was struck by an amazing sight. The children and directors of the Goshen Summer Day Camp were standing there, waving American flags.

I felt proud, humbled, and blessed to have Richie honored in this way. This has so touched my heart. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all involved. Thank you to the parents who permitted their children to participate.

Patriotism and service need to be acknowledged.

Linda Driscoll
