Tickets now on sale for Edna's Foundation of Hope fourth annual gala
Countdown for a Cure’ to be held Nov. 5 Monroe - Once again the friends, relatives, family members, associates from other cancer organizations, physicians, nurses, and many others will gather at the Sheraton Crossroads Hotel in Mahwah, N.J., on Friday, Nov. 5, for the fourth annual gala presented by Edna’s Foundation of Hope. Though Edna Curley, founder of the charity, lost her battle last October with Leiomyosarcoma, her “hope” lives on through fund-raising and awareness events like these. With its theme, “countdown for a cure,” the evening will be a fun-filled night of top shelf entertainment, gourmet buffet, open bar and entertainment provided by In Transit. Elegant gift baskets and silent auctions are part of the program. Edna Curley, a Monroe mother of three and retired New York City police officer, was diagnosed with this rare and incurable cancer in October 2005. Due to the lack of funding and knowledge available, she along with friends and family vowed to raise money for research and “give it a voice.” All funds raised by this foundation go directly toward research for finding a cure. - MJ Hanley-Goff
