Last Wednesday, May 26, at Monroe-Woodbury High School, he Crusaders took on the Wildcats of of Warwick.

The Crusaders entered the game with a 13-0 record on the season and are the #1 ranked AA team in the state. The team had defeated the Wildcats 9-2 when the two teams met earlier in the season.

The Crusaders took control of the game in the first inning.

Danielle Ryan led off with a double to left that was followed by a walk to Brianna Roberts. Ryan then scored on a bunt by Emma Lawson.

Kelsey O’Brien then stepped to the plate and drove in Roberts and Lawson with a double to center. O’Brien then took third on a wild pitch and scored on a Anna Paravati sacrifice fly to left. Arianna Exarchakis then drew a walk followed by a single by Makiya Himes. Amanda Palmer then delivered a a single to left that drove in the two runners and the Crusaders were up 6-0 at the end of the first.

The Crusaders finished their scoring in the bottom of the fourth when Ryan drew a lead off walk followed by a single by Roberts. Ryan then scored on a single to right by Lawson and Lawson scored on a single to center by Exarchakis witch gave the Crusaders a 8-0 lead.

On the mound for sophomore Arianna Exarchakis went seven innings allowing only three hits while striking out six for her fourth victory of the year.

The Crusaders 8-1 victory over the Wildcats brings their record to 14-0. Up next Pine Bush at Pine Bush High School.
