The Monroe-Woodbury Varsity Baseball team has been taking advantage of November’s unusually warm weather by getting in some workouts in preparation for the season that is now scheduled for late spring 2021.

Chris Vero will be going into his 17th season in the baseball program and eighth as the head coach of the Crusaders with a record of 82-49 after the cancelation of of the 2019-2020 season.

Vero, along with his assistants William Beyer and Patrick Tierney, put the boys through some conditioning drills and warm ups before they broke the team in two for a scrimmage.

The team is hoping to play their inaugural game and season on their beautiful new field this spring. The new field has lights and is located on the old girls varsity lacrosse field and has a parking lot just off of Nininger Road.

This year the boys of summer are putting in the work early in hope of playing this year.
