Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt announced this week that a traffic signal will be installed by the New York State Department of Transportation at the well-known dangerous intersection of Route 208 and Mountain Road in the Village of South Blooming Grove.

Last summer, Schmitt sent a formal request to the DOT requesting the agency reconsider a previously denied attempt to place a traffic signal at this location. This was in conjunction with both the Village of South Blooming Grove Board and Blooming Grove Town Board who sent resolutions formally requesting a new traffic study and traffic signal installation.

A final date for full installation and activation is still in development.
